As a publication covering Artificial Intelligence, we believe in radical transparency regarding how we use the technology ourselves.
The Golden Rule: A human editor is always responsible for the final published word. AI is a tool for our journalists, never a replacement for them.
What AI Does For Us
- Data Analysis: We use LLMs to rapidly process earnings reports, technical whitepapers, and legislative documents to surface key insights.
- Translation: We utilize machine translation to monitor international AI developments, particularly in non-English speaking markets.
- Coding & Visualization: We use AI coding assistants to help build interactive data visualizations and tools for our website.
- Copy Editing: Grammarly and custom LLM prompts are used to check for passive voice, structural issues, and grammatical errors.
What AI Does NOT Do
- Generative Reporting: We do not use AI to generate full articles from scratch.
- Interviews: All quotes are gathered by human reporters interacting with human subjects (unless explicitly stated that we are interviewing an AI).
- Final Review: An AI cannot hit "Publish." Every piece of content is reviewed and fact-checked by a human editor.
Image Generation
If an image is generated using AI (e.g., Midjourney, DALL-E), it will be clearly labeled in the caption. We do not use AI-generated images to depict real historical events, real people in false contexts, or photojournalistic scenes.
